Trauma-Informed Partners

Feedback: Most importantly for me, it reinforced the ways in which trauma affects cognition and behavior, and reminded me that it is critical to take the full context into account when planning activities for groups and children with trauma backgrounds. 

The mission of Literacy Achieves is to equip non-English speaking adults and their young children with English literacy and life skills to promote self-sufficiency and the overall well-being of our students, their families and the greater community.

These organizations have received Educational Outcomes' Trauma Informed Training and have made the commitment to becoming more Trauma-Informed.  They are seeking better outcomes for the clients they served and helping students achieve more by reducing barriers to educational growth caused by exposure to traumatic events.

DARB (Huzur yolu) is a Turkish non-governmental organization, in Gaziantep, Turkey whose aim is to deepen awareness among different local communities. We envision being a platform for sharing experiences and resources, which enables individuals and communities to take their roles, and create a common space for development and live in peace. DARB is a value-based organization, it works under five core values (diversity, participation, common achievement, being part of a whole and converting words into actions).

PAIR's mission is to empower refugee youth to navigate American society, reach their academic potential, and become community leaders.

PAIR Houston

Feedback:  "As a PAIR Mentor, we cannot treat trauma. Rather, we can identify the signs and elevate the conversation to more qualified personnel."

Rainbow Community Center:  Centered in Gaziantep, Turkey, this Syrian refugee safe haven works with youth displaced by the Syrian conflict.  The offer meals, language training and help young kids get into and succeed in Turkish schools.  

YUVA  tackles the issues of ecology, human rights and eradication of poverty simultaneously in order to make a sustainable living possible. Our goal is to provide a sustainable life for all living beings.

Feedback:  The modules are focusing on the relationship between learning and mental health, which is very important to understand for teachers and educators.  Lecturer ITU

Small Projects Istanbul is dedicated to helping those displaced by the conflict in Syria rebuild their lives, through supporting community development, education, and empowerment.
The Olive Tree Community Center is designed to be a place of safety and belonging, within this space we are committed to working with the community to ensure the best opportunities for families, students and individuals to reach their full potential in Istanbul and beyond.
